Position: Assistant Market Manager

Start Date: March 1st, 2025

Time Commitment: 6 - 8 hours/week 

Work Schedule: 

  • March - May:  Saturdays 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM 

  • June-November: Saturdays 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM 

*Occasional weekday administrative hours may be required, typically no more than once a month or less

Responsibilities:

As an Assistant Market Manager, you will be working with the Market Manager to play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our market. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Set-Up and Breakdown: Assist in setting up and breaking down market stalls and safety equipment, ensuring a visually appealing and organized layout.

  2. Ground Maintenance: Assist in ensuring the walkways in and around the market are clear of litter and debris.

  3. Vendor Support: Help vendors with setup, answer their questions, and facilitate a positive experience for both vendors and visitors.

  4. Customer Assistance: Provide information to visitors, answer inquiries, and offer assistance to ensure a pleasant shopping experience.

  5. Promotion: Assist with promoting the market during market operating hours through distributing flyers, engaging with social media, and encouraging community participation.

Benefits:

  • $18.00-20.00/hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:

  • Enthusiastic about supporting local businesses and agriculture.

  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, to lift 50 lbs and stand for at least 2 hours at a time.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Reliable and punctual.

  • Ability to work well in a team and adapt to changing environments.

  • Access to reliable transportation to and from Market
